githelp ("we", "our", or "us") operates the githelp mobile application. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use our app.
Information We Collect
- Account information: name, phone number, and optional email address
- Identity verification: government-issued ID and selfie, processed by Stripe Identity
- Payment information: processed securely by Stripe — we never store card details
- Location: used to show nearby jobs and approximate job areas
- Photos: before and after job photos uploaded by workers
- Push notification tokens: used to send job updates and alerts
- Profile photo: optional photo uploaded by workers
How We Use Your Information
- To connect customers with local workers for home service jobs
- To process payments and payouts via Stripe
- To verify the identity of all platform users
- To send push notifications about job status and updates
- To resolve disputes between customers and workers
Independent Contractor Relationship
Workers on githelp are independent contractors, not employees. githelp is a marketplace platform that facilitates connections between customers and workers.
Data Retention
After a job is completed and the 24-hour review window closes, we purge chat messages, job photos, and address information. We retain job title, city/state, completion date, payment amount, and star ratings for record-keeping purposes.
